Font size 22 bold post title
Unformatted white subtitle with some short extra information about the thread

Font size 22 bold primary section header

Font size 15 bold secondary section header
  • Unordered lists always use the formatted bullet list.
  • The color we use for headers is #f24d4d
  • Lists usually use default font size and rarely use bold.
  • When to use bold - Bold is used if there is a few TLDR words at the start of a list item.
  • Some list items have so much text that they go on to two lines, if this happens then we might need a gap between this item and the next item. They might not always go on to two lines since not everyone's monitor is short enough, but if a single item has a particularly large amount of text spanning more than 2-3 lines, we add a single line gap below the item.

  • To prevent a blank dot on the new line, the space under the large list item will have it's list formatting removed. Adding a space after large list items is NOT a requirement, but if the thread looks easier to read for it then we do it. Ultimately this is up to you.
Ordered lists
  1. Some ordered lists only need whole numbers.
  2. This means we can use regular list formatting.
  3. Not all are like this however.
Decimal ordered lists
  • 1.1 If your ordered list needs decimal numbers, we cannot use the regular formatted list.
  • 1.2 Instead, we manually write the number, then use a bullet pointed list.
Centering things

When to center things
When there is
A list of fairly short
Pieces of text
For example, a member list
Like in the CGSF roster threads

When not to center things
If the thread is long enough to need to scroll
We don't center anything
Except for the information at the very top
Or the information at the very bottom
Conclusion

All posts made sticky MUST follow these guidelines, feel free to use this in your own non-sticky posts if you'd like.
Sometimes, you might not be able to stick EXCACTLY to this guide, however try keeping to it as closely as possible.

A few final tips:
  • Never put : at the end of a header.
  • Try to always put . at the end of a list item, unless it ends with something unusual.
  • Avoid using ! unless you have to, it just looks cringy and generally unprofessional.
  • Try to add new lines where appropriate instead of wrapping to the screen width.
  • Avoid full caps unless you are emphasising a single word.
  • We usually only emphasise words using bold when it is a name for something, for example CGSF Captain is the name of a rank.
  • if you want to emphasise things using a colour, we usually only use the Civil Gamers red, you can use other colors if you must, but usually this is not necessary. This color also conviniently works well when bolded, so feel free to do that also.
  • Always use American spelling, I.E color, not colour, and centered, not centred.

Centered italic bold footer title, with three spaces above it.
Additional footer information, non-bold. Up to your descression but usually don't write too much down here.
But it can be a couple of lines if you need to.
